The 21-year-old Spaniard encountered fierce resistance in the opening set as his opponent targeted high-kick second serves and dictated extended baseline rallies. However, Alcaraz adjusted his court positioning in the second set, stepping closer to the baseline to unleash heavy topspin forehands clocking over 135 km/h and deploying his trademark feathered drop shots with surgical deception.

The deciding set delivered several heart-stopping moments, including a 28-shot rally at 5-5 that drew a standing ovation from the crowd. Serving for the match, Alcaraz fired an unreturnable 205 km/h serve out wide before falling to his knees in celebration.

“I had to dig deeper than ever today mentally and physically,” Alcaraz stated in his on-court interview. “When things weren’t going my way in the first set, I reminded myself to stay aggressive and trust my footwork. I cannot wait to bring that same energy into the quarterfinals.”
